The Department of Electrochemistry at our university is engaged in projects related to the development of electrochemical energy. This is an essential part of life in the era of smartphones, laptops, the Internet of Things, and the emerging field of electric vehicles.
The application of conducting polymers and polymer complexes of transition metals in energy storage and conversion are the main research directions. Research topics include the design and characterization of materials for batteries, supercapacitors, fuel cells, photoelectrochemical converters, and catalysts.
The Department of Electrochemistry, as a part of St. Petersburg State University, recognizes the importance and relevance of electrochemistry as a scientific discipline and applied field contributing to various aspects of modern technology and industry. Therefore, the Department strives to provide high quality education and training for students who wish to pursue careers or research in electrochemistry or related fields. The Department offers various courses, programs and opportunities for students to learn from experienced faculty, participate in innovative projects and have access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.
More information about the research topics and results is available on the pages of the research groups.
