Professor Valery V. Malev (1939–2022), Doctor of Chemical Sciences, was a leading figure in theoretical electrochemistry and served as the Head of the Department of Electrochemistry at Saint Petersburg State University (1994–2013). His work contributed to the understanding of charge-transfer and transport processes in complex electrochemical systems, including mixed ion–electron conducting materials and polymer-modified electrodes.
