The project is aimed at solving both general issues of studying the regularities of the formation of new composite materials based on metal oxides and conducting polymers with conjugated bonds, and the development of practically important materials based on poly-3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene with inclusions of nanosized tungsten oxide particles that are promising for use in supercapacitors and electrochromic devices. Although a large number of works have been devoted to the study of methods of preparation and electrode processes involving tungsten oxides, many questions remain unresolved in the behavior of these complex systems, primarily in relation to the mechanism of redox processes involving tungsten oxide, the completeness of redox transformations in the composition of certain structures of tungsten oxide, the role of the nature of counter-ions that support the electrochemical activity of oxides in certain electrolytes, patterns of formation of certain structures, the role of the substrate in electrochemical synthesis.
