Li-Ion & Mendeleev 2026 wrapped up — and our students took home diplomas
The XIX International Conference "Topical Problems of Energy Conversion in Lithium Electrochemical Systems" and its satellite, the XIV International Conference for Young Scientists "Mendeleev 2026", took place at St Petersburg University, Peterhof (Mikhailovskaya Dacha), on September 14–19, 2026. The programme brought together researchers from Russia and abroad, with plenary and sectional talks, poster sessions, workshops and a social programme. The Department of Electrochemistry was among the organisers — and, in the best traditions of the genre, also among the participants.

Awardees of the youth sections
Members of the Department received diplomas in four of the youth-section competitions:
Oral presentations
- Anastasiia Dolmatova — Diploma of the I degree (section Md1, The future of energy: post-lithium technologies and sustainable development)
- Daria Semenenko — Diploma of the II degree (section Md1, The future of energy: post-lithium technologies and sustainable development)
Poster presentations
- Olga Goleshchikhina — Diploma of the I degree (section Md4, Operational challenges of chemical power sources)
- Andrey Popov — Diploma of the II degree (section Md2, Materials for electrochemical energy systems)
Yes, the hosts did take home a share of the prizes. The awards were decided by the sections' own juries, and we are simply very proud of our students. Congratulations to Anastasiia, Daria, Olga and Andrey, and to their supervisors — the new diplomas have been added to our awards page.
